Please join us as we explore the Columbus, Texas area, looking at the sites, visiting museums, eateries, and enjoying friends we haven’t seen in a year.  Also, the chance of making new friends to look forward to seeing next year and years after.  Hopefully, y’all will be able to join us. Fourth Annual Ford Model T Event at Pioneer Flight Museum-Saturday, March 29, 2025

Fourth annual Ford Model T Event at Pioneer Flight Museum

was held on Saturday, March 29, 2025

Featuring: The Model T Olympics and Tailgate Swap Meet

Open to the public, spectators welcome. The Museum will be open.

The Chevy C20 Raffle Truck was on display with tickets for sale. Drawing was May 3, 2025

Bring your Model T and join the fun, don’t have a T, or yours is not up to the challenge? Come on out anyway for a ride. Special parking available for all classic, vintage and antique cars.

Want to learn to drive a T, or are your driving skills a little rusty? Driving lessons and coaching available. Model T or parts for sale? Bring them out for a tailgate swap meet. There is no entry fee, however your small donation will keep the event going in the future.

Free parking for cars and trailers, camp here or park your T overnight and stay at a near by hotel.  Vintage Fashion Encouraged.  Have your photo taken wearing your vintage clothing for our online fashion show.

Saturday:

  • 8AM to 9AM – Registration for Model T Olympics and weenie roast
  • 9AM Model T Drivers meeting
  • 9:30AM – 10:00AM – Model T Games Begin
  • Model T Olympic Games, including: Driver Test Course, Potato Race, Backseat Driver Test, Teeter-totter and more games played involving the Ford Model T.
  • Food truck will be onsite (Saturday for lunch only)
  • 3PM – 7PM Self Guided Tour or continue to play games
  • You can go to dinner on your own or join us for a campfire weenie roast (7:00PM) in the evening complete with smores.

Tailgate Swap Meet: Bring your own shade and chairs, only space is provided. This is intended to be a pre-WWII antique and vintage car swap meet, cars, parts and related items only please. There is no fee for the swap meet space, however your small donation will help keep the event going in the future.

Model T Olympics: A day of fun & games involving the Model T. Try your skill on our Model T sized teeter-totter. Can you balance your car? It is harder than you think. Our driver’s skills course will test your skill at back-in and pull-in, parking, right turn, and an area to drive in high gear. The Potato Race and The Beanbag Toss are a team effort, as is the ever popular Backseat Driver Course: The passenger is the navigator for the Blindfolded Driver through a course of traffic cones. Don’t have a passenger? We can find one for you. Spectators welcome.

2024 Texas T Party in Kerrville, Texas

The 2024 Texas T Party was held in Kerrville, Texas on October 16 – 19, 2024 at the Inn of The Hills Hotel  https://www.innofthehills.com/.  We had FOUR DAYS OF HILL COUNTRY FUN!

47th TEXAS T PARTY TOUR HIGHLIGHTS

Tuesday Afternoon –

  • Registration in the Board Room at the Inn for Check-in. 
  • Tuesday evening, ‘Welcome to the T Party’ get together in the Board Room.

 Wednesday – Harper, Texas

  • Starting from the hotel, we took some back roads to Stone Henge (they call it Stone Hinge down here). Then some scenic country roads to arrive in Harper Texas.  Visited the Pioneer Museum in Harper, followed by a spectacular TEX/MEX lunch at the Harper pavilion.  Next some more beautiful country roads take us to The Ridge, a snack shop and great bakery, for a dessert and pit stop.  Next, it’s on to the James Avery Hill Country Jewelry store.

Wednesday evening

  • Socializing at the hotels Western Bar named The Inn Pub.
  • Dan Bratcher presented another one of his ‘Model T Round Table Sessions’ in the Board Room.

Thursday – Fredericksburg, Texas

  • A short drive to the Arcadia theater in Kerrville where the official tour photos will be taken. Then it’s a scenic drive on country roads to Fredericksburg, Texas.  If you wish, use your museum ticket for a free visit to The Museum of the Pacific War.  Fredericksburg also has great shopping.  The drive back to Kerrville was over cattle-country back roads.

Thursday evening

  • This evening will feature the Sophie Adcock Memorial Farkel tournament in the Board Room. 
  • DJ in the Pub played Country and Western music.
  • Blayn Heimann and wife Effie taught Texas Two-Step and Country Line Dancing in the Pub. 
  • The Pinewood Derby ran for the young at heart.

Friday – The YO Ranch

  • A drive in the West Texas scenic rolling hills to the YO Ranch. Here we were treated to a Texas BBQ lunch and a free tour of their exotic animals and long horn cattle.  Next a drive along the scenic Guadalupe River for a stop at The Hunt store.  Grabbed an ice cream or a drink.  Then on to Bridget’s Basket, a beautiful winery in the valley.  Visited their gift store and had a taste of their wine.  

Friday evening

  • Socializing and Karaoke at The Inn Pub.

Saturday – Bandera, Texas

  • A drive through cattle country back roads to the Texas town of Center Point, then on country roads to the ‘Ridin’-The-River Cowboy Fellowship’ for a catered lunch. Travelled on to the Bandera Natural History Museum in Bandera, Texas, the Cowboy Capital of the World.  Here we visited the Natural History Museum.  In Bandera there was time for shopping and exploring.  Headed back toward Kerrville on beautiful country roads with a stop at Camp Verde for shopping and a pit stop.  

Saturday evening

  • The closing Banquet for the tour was held at The Inn of the Hills spacious Banquet Hall. A wonderful dinner, a cash bar and great companionship.
  • Country and Western band performs in the Inn Pub.

Willis, Texas Tour was held Sunday, March 5, 2023

Category:Event

Denny Irvine and Bill Severn held a one day tour in the Willis, Texas area. Tour date was Sunday, March 5, 2023. Parking was in the lot north of the Willis Post Office, 609 North Campbell Street, Willis TX 77378. Tour started at 9 AM.  Route maps and guidance was provided.

There were stops at Stowaway Marina, Fish Pond Restaurant for lunch, and finished at the Willis Dairy Queen. Total distance did not exceed 50 miles.  It was cool, and fun.   See the April 2023 Flivver Flash for tour details on this website.

2022 Hallettsville Texas T Party – Sep. 28 to Oct. 1

The Space City T’s of Houston chapter of the Model T Ford Club of America, held the 45th annual Texas T Party event in Hallettsville, Texas, on September 28-October 1, 2022. Chairpersons for 2022 were Farrah & Jeff Cordes and Sandra & Jim Ruhmann.  A total of 97 cars were registered and 180 people were handled beautifully, resulting in a very enjoyable four day tour. Many thanks to all of you for a great tour!

Here are some of the highlights.  We visited the Cuero Chisholm Trail Heritage Museum, the Cuero Heritage Museum, antique stores, Wagners Hardware and Yoakum Double J Saddlery. 

We visited the Shiner Brewery, and the architectural beauty of Saints Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church.  We did our individual pictures and we did our hit and miss ice cream bar social with a local pickers circle band. 

We had a kolache/coffee stop In Weimar, driving by the beautiful Dubina Church and over the Piano Bridge on our way to Plum Texas.  A BBQ Lunch was catered by Peter’s BBQ at the Saints Peter & Paul Church Hall.  We toured Mike & Annette Bandy’s car collection and restoration shop. We visited the Lyric Ice Cream shop and saw the restored Lyric Theater with old time movies.  We visited Moravia with more stops at Majek Winery, Moravia Winery and the Moravia Store.  We had another exciting Farkel tournament. 

We visited Hallettsville with a morning ghost hunt at the Old Lavaca County Jail and toured the Lavaca Historical Museum.  We toured a local fish hatchery.  We were a big attraction at the Texas Barnstorming Museum Fly In. From there, we viewed a short film at the Cole Theater on the square. Our banquet was held in the historic Kocian Building on the square. We had a fantastic meal with a live local band.

42nd Annual Texas “T” Party – Brenham, Texas Oct 9 – 12, 2019

The Space City T’s, the Houston chapter of the Model T Ford Club of America, held this year’s Texas T Party event in Brenham, Texas, October 9-12. Chairpersons for 2019 were Dave Lucas, Rick McCracken and David Carter. Coordination of routes, accommodations, and food for over 97 cars and 200 people was handled skillfully by this group, resulting in a very smooth four day tour.  Sandra Lucas, Naomi McCracken, Nancy Carter and Jim & Sandra Ruhmann were also instrumental with computer work and other coordinating. Many thanks to all of you for a great tour!

2019 Frio Canyon Tour – May 9-12

Frio Canyon Tour May 9-12, 2019

Texas Tin Lizzies had a Model T Tour in the Garner, Uvalde, Utopia and Leakey areas, May 9 – 12. We stayed in Garner State Park.  We were spread out throughout the park depending on what kind of site you booked.  We had tent, RV, cabins and full trailer hook-up lots. Jim and Sandra Ruhmann were in the RIO FRIO campground, site 496 (tent camping).  Cabins and RV sites were also available at 4J Riverway (830) 232-6202, ½ mile east of Garner entrance.

We had a short-day tour on Thursday to Uvalde to visit the First State Bank (Garner Museum) and lunch.

On Friday, lunch at Camp Wood and Saturday, lunch in Bandera with a stop by Lost Maples Winery as we rode ‘The Twisted Sisters’. Be sure you have good brakes!

Sunday we headed back home.

41st Annual Texas T Party – Schulenberg, Texas October 10-13, 2018

The Space City T’s, the Houston chapter of the Model T Ford Club of America, held this year’s event in Schulenburg, Texas, October 10-13. Chairpersons for 2018 were Rosemary Stokley, Jeff Cordes and Luke Cordes. Coordination of routes, accommodations, and food for over 90 cars and 180 people was handled skillfully by this group, resulting in a very smooth four day tour. Last year’s chairpersons, Jim and Sandra Ruhmann were also instrumental with computer work and other coordinating. Many thanks to all of you for a great tour.

Schulenburg – Dubina Czech Culture Mini Tour – 6/30 to 7/1/2018

Schulenburg – Dubina tour:

Saturday, we arrived for lunch at the Oakridge Smokehouse, and then we visited the Czech Polka Festival in Schulenburg.  Sunday, we visited the painted church in Dubina, Texas and enjoyed the car show/static display and food.  The Schulenburg Holiday Inn Express Hotel was the host hotel.   The tour leaders were Bobby & Rebecca Wright.

2018 Galveston ‘Tour de Isle’

2018 Galveston Island tour:

Space City T club members in their Model T’s cruised the island once again. The photos of this tour are below. We hit The Strand, visited The Railroad Museum, toured Cedar Park subdivision, saw the tree statues, photographed the cemetery yellow coreopsis flowers and ate lunch just to name a few activities. Since we had so much fun doing this in 2017 we have decided to do it again in 2018 with added adventure.

40th Annual Texas T Party – Kerrville, Texas Oct. 2017

The 40th Texas T Party was in Kerrville, TX from October 11 to 14, 2017.

The Wednesday tour began at 8:30am from the hotel, driving to visit James Avery Jewelry Showroom and Museum, Harper Community, and Stonehenge II.

Thursday tour began at 8:30, for Picture Day in Fredericksburg. We visited The Pioneer Museum, lunch was on our own and some shopping.

Friday tour began at 8:00, and we drove to Comfort to Luckenbach to Sisterdale to Waring for lunch, and back to Comfort for visits to some wineries and shopping, then back to hotel.

Saturday, we visited Bandera. There was a Natural History Museum, with the skeletal depiction of a dinosaur that was used in the movie “Night at the Museum”, and The Frontier Museum.

The Y O Ranch Resort Hotel was the host hotel. 

The tour leaders were Jim & Sandra Ruhmann and Rosemarie Stokley.
